Overview
By simulating a disaster humanitarian staff can practice responding to an emergency and collaborating with diverse colleagues in an intense emergency context.
The Emergency Capacity Building Project produced this guide to coordinating both multi-and single-agency simulations, which includes a methodology that enables staff to test (self-assess) their performance.
This is a simple, adaptable simulation package enabling field teams to test their systems and skills in a realistic emergency scenario, which can be tailored to a country context. This Administrator’s guide explains how to implement the simulation effectively and maximize learning during the debrief.
The guide is accompanied by a set of materials designed to support preparation and delivery of single agency and multi-agency simulations.
