Copyright & Permissions

You do not need to request permission if you are:

  • copying the document for personal use only in its entirety; or
  • using or quoting short extracts from our publications for the purpose of review or comment, or to quote our material in a research paper, dissertation, news article or any other type of report prepared as part of an academic or professional course, including school projects and coursework.

You must attribute the work as per the copyright notice on the publication.

If you wish to make commercial use of any of our material, or if you wish to make any alterations or modifications (including translations), you must contact us for permission.  This is in part so that we can ensure that the reproduced work aligns with our values and purpose.

Some documents and photos have been published on this site with the permission of the relevant copyright owners (who are not Oxfam). All rights are reserved on these documents and permission to copy them must be requested from the copyright owners (the sources are indicated within these documents/photographs).

1. Translations and other alterations / modifications
