There is currently much public debate about ‘men in crisis’, ‘troubled masculinities’, and ‘men at risk’. Although women continue to bear a disproportionate share of material, social, and civil disadvantage, there is a growing awareness that men in some contexts also face marginalisation because of their gender roles and identities.
