Evaluation of Oxfam Disaster Preparedness and Contingency Planning Project in Uganda
Overview
Uganda faces frequent humanitarian challenges, both natural and conflict related. In order to improve preparedness and response to these events, Oxfam GB with Oxfam NOVIB and Oxfam Ireland developed a Disaster Preparedness and Contingency Planning (DPCP) project. The project (April 2007 – September 2008) aimed to improve preparedness and increase effective and accountable humanitarian response by Oxfam and stakeholders, based on the underlying principles of communication, consultation and co-ordination. This final review assesses achievements against expected results and advises the Oxfam International (OI) country team on an eventual follow-up phase.
