Free Front Line Africa
Overview
Oxfam has been working with people in southern Africa since the early 1960s – providing support for their efforts to improve the quality of their lives. During the last decade their efforts have been undermined by a growing debt crisis, falling prices for their exports, the lack of effective international aid, and, in many cases, misguided government policies. As if this was not enough, they have also had to face the burden of South African regional ‘destabilisation’ policies which are estimated to have cost the nine neighbouring states some US$ 60,000 million since 1980.
