Overview

The River Basin Programme for India (FY 2003-04 to 2005-06) operated in the Indian part of the Ganges and in Brahmaputra basin areas, and is part of the regional (Nepal, India, Bangladesh) RBP. It addressed flood preparedness and the livelihoods of poor communities living in the states of Bihar, Assam and West Bengal. This final review of the India RBP enables Oxfam and partners to identify the achievements and limitations of the programme, and to learn lessons in order to improve programme quality in the future.
