Overview

Oxfam has partnered with the Poetry Society’s Young Poets Network to give young people the opportunity to make their voices heard on global and gender inequality issues. The Even it Up Poetry Challenge is open to young people aged 11-25 working on their own, and to teachers submitting the work of their students.

We are asking for submissions by 31 March 2016, shortly after International Women’s Day (8 March). You can find information about the challenge and how to enter your class’s work on the Young Poets Network website.

The curriculum-linked Even it Up Poetry Challenge resources have been specially developed to introduce students to the themes of global and gender inequality, with activities to get their poetic responses flowing.

This competition has now ended. Find out about other ways in which you can take action through Oxfam’s Schools Speak Out Programme.
