Gender, race, and the underclass’
Overview
Although the economy is booming, America has the highest poverty levels in the industrialised world. This article looks at the way in which welfare policies are influenced by attitudes to poverty and to poor people, and argues for a different approach based on an accurate analysis of the causes of poverty.
