Overview
Cyclone Pam struck Vanuatu on 13th March 2015. According to the latest estimates, 11 people have died and 100,000 people have been left homeless.
This resource for 11-14 year olds will help learners explore why Cyclone Pam has caused such devastation, what makes people vulnerable to disasters, and how the international community respond to disasters.
The resource includes ideas for how young people in the UK can respond to Cyclone Pam, for example by organising a fundraising event.
Owing to the publication date of this resource, some of the content (including statistics and links) may need updating. Find out about other ways in which you can take action through Oxfam’s Schools Speak Out Programme.
