Evaluation of Integrated Rural Livelihood Programme in Afghanistan
Overview
Oxfam is running a rural recovery and food security programme in 40 villages of the districts of Panjao, Waras, Lal o Sarjangal and Ashterlai in Hazarajat and a community based rural livelihood programme in 40 villages of the districts of Yawan and Shar-e Buzurg in Badakhshan province. Oxfam is also implementing the NSP programme in 5 districts of Daykundi. The Hazarajat and Badakhshan livelihood programmes are ending in August and September 2006 respectively. The objective of this final evaluation was to inform the design of a new integrated rural livelihood development programme and to make recommendations for a sustainable exit strategy for the current rural development activities being implemented.
