Hunters and Gatherers in Central Africa: On the margins of development
Overview
Forest and savannah dwellers in Africa who rely on hunting and gathering for their livelihoods face an uncertain future. Their way of life is under pressure from governments, who are making concerted attempts to settle them and integrate them into alien forms of subsistence such as farming or pastoralism. Their territories are under threat from commercial interests.
