Research Round-up
Overview
Based upon ‘Business linkages in Zimbabwe: helping to shape `win-win’ economic structures’. The first in a series of papers, this paper describes the rationale behind the Manic land Business Linkages Project in Eastern Zimbabwe. The economic and development perspectives of buyers, suppliers, and the nation are considered, including the relevance of gender in small enterprise. Potential risks and problems are highlighted: imbalances of power between buyer and seller, government regulations and union demands, and access to linkage opportunities.
