Overview

The Bees Products Trade Promotion programme was operational 2003 – 2006, in six woredas (districts) of Amhara regional state, Ethiopia. The programme aimed to lift beekeepers from income poverty by creating a market for bee products, thereby increasing their owners’ net income. The final evaluation aims to assess the programme’s impact on farmers’ groups livelihoods, and these organisations’ long-term financial and institutional viability. The evaluators wanted to identify key lessons from the implementation and management processes of the programme and provide recommendations for future action, including possible remedial / risk mitigation measures.
