Gender, culture and later life a dilemma for contemporary feminism
Overview
This article argues that current feminist perspectives, and development planners and policymakers, have failed to address the issue of ageism and the marginalisation of older women’s interests and contribution to development. Aiming to contextualise women of the north and south in terms of demographic, social, and economic change, the article attempts to view women’s life cycle as a celebration in struggle.
