Overview

In the past, residents of Namorputh in Turkana often spent over three hours a day queuing for water, or collected unsafe river water instead. However, following work by Practical Action to upgrade and extend the water system, villagers can now access clean, adequate water at any time.

Find out how Namorputh’s Water Users’ Association is overcoming the past reluctance of residents to pay for water, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the upgraded network.
