Overview

The aim of the ‘Promoting Sustainable Livelihoods for Women and Vulnerable Groups’ project, carried out in Chiradzulu District, Malawi, was to empower vulnerable people – especially women – through engagement in production and facilitating access to markets. Project activities included facilitating the establishment and providing capacity building for approximately 180 village savings and loans (VSL) groups in 81 villages, as well as support in horticulture production and in the breeding of pigs.

These reports document the findings of a quasi-experimental impact evaluation carried out in April 2013.
