Overview

Oxfam is working to beat poverty, wherever we find it, and that includes the UK – the second most food insecure country in Europe. This is an invitation for learners aged 11+ to respond passionately, and poetically, to the scandal that is UK hunger.

Use our teaching resources to develop literacy and language skills, and inspire budding poets to effect real change by persuading others. Submit their entries via the Young Poets Network by 6 May 2018 for the chance to win exclusive prizes and inclusion in End Hunger UK’s touring exhibition later this year.

This competition has now ended. Find out about other ways in which you can take action through Oxfam’s Schools Speak Out Programme.
